The Egyptian national team are playing a friendly against South Korea on 13 October, ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

"The association have approved the first national team friendly against South Korea," the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced in a statement on their official website listing all Thursday's meeting decisions.

EFA had announced Wednesday that they reached an agreement with the Pharaohs coach not to play any friendlies before the Chad match in the Gabon tournament qualifiers, scheduled for 6 September. On this they had quoted EFA vice-president Hassan Farid.

The ailing national side, who have not qualified for the Nations Cup since 2010, are in a rebuilding phase under veteran Argentinean coach Hector Cuper, who is primarily tasked with helping them reach the World Cup for the first time since 1990.

The association also announced appointing coach Amr Anwar as the Under-16 national team manager and Alaa Nabil as U-17 coach.
