Ahly came back from one goal down to beat a resilient Petrojet side 3-1 and qualify for the Egypt Cup final as they bid to win the competition for the first time since 2007.

Four superb goals included a surprise opener for visitors Petrojet, who grabbed the lead midway through the first half through striker Mohamed Ragab, before Ramadan Sobhi equalized three minutes from half-time in superb fashion.

Left-back Hussein El-Sayed then gave his side the lead in the 70th minute with a swerving effort before substitute Ahmed Fathi made sure of victory two minutes from the end with a left-footed volley.

Petrojet, coached by ex-Egypt skipper Ahmed Hassan, proved no pushovers during long spells in the game, but it was the 35-cup champions who eventually prevailed.

Ahly will now meet the winner from the match between Smouha and league champions Zamalek, who meet on Thursday at Alexandria Stadium.

After highly-rated youngster Ramadan Sobhi had wasted a one-on-one chance, marksman Ragab was there to punish the Reds after volleying home a cross from the left - with right-back Bassem Ali the culprit.

Egyptian international playmaker Sobhi, however, was there to make amends for his wasted chance with a fine solo goal that saw him evade the challenge of a Petrojet defender inside the area before finding the net at the near post from point-blank range.

Then came full-back El-Sayed to put his side in front with another individual effort, which saw him muscle his way into the area despite being pressed by two defenders, before unleashing a strike that beat the Petrojet keeper at the far post.

But it wasn't the end of beautiful goals, with Egypt veteran Fathi scoring just a few minutes after coming off the bench with his weak left foot after controlling the ball in front of the area before hitting the roof of the net for his side's third.
