Zamalek have agreed with Maqassa to take defender Hani Said on a one-season loan deal.

“Said is one of the essential demands of coach Hassan Shehata,” the club's official website stated.

The 31-year-old Egypt defender played for Egyptian sides Ahly, Ismaily, Masry and Zamalek as well a 7-year stint with Italian clubs A.S. Bari, Messina, Fiorentina and Mons.

Said played under Hassan Shehata for years and he helped in winning African Cups of Nations 2008 and 2010.

Zamalek board members are doing their best to fulfill Shehata’s demands, especially after the surprising resignation of president Galal Ibrahim due to the financial crisis.

Egypt skipper Ahmed Hassan’s move to Zamalek is nearing its climax after his release from Ahly and clubs started chasing him while the Whites still bargaining.

“I will solve the financial obstacles of landing Ahmed Hassan and I will guarantee funding the deal,” board member Tarek Ghoneim told Ahram Online.

The Egyptian Premier League runners-up have already landed Maqassa’s striker Hussien Hamdy on a three-year deal for LE 3 million.

“I am so delighted to join Zamalek and play under the helms of great coach, Hassan Shehata,” Hamdy said.
