Ahly goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy (Bassam El-Zoghby)
Ahly goalkeeper Sherif Ekrmay faces at least two weeks on the sidelines after he picked up a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw with Ghazl El-Mahalla in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
The 32-year-old strained a hamstring muscle while he was trying to block a shot from Mahalla's Mohamed Yehia, who gave his side a surprise lead before Ramadan Sobhi notched a stoppage-time equaliser for Ahly.
"There are still further scans that he will undergo, but our preliminary estimations indicate that he will be out for at least two weeks," Ahly team doctor Khaled Mahmoud was quoted as saying by Ahram's sports website.
Mosaad Awad is likely to deputise for Ekramy when Ahly face foes Masry in a rescheduled league game on Tuesday.
Ekramy, who came through the youth ranks of Ahly, has been a regular starter for the Red Devils since he re-joined them in 2010 following European spells with Dutch side Feyenoord and Turkey's Ankaragucu.
Ahly remain top of the league table on 40 points, five ahead of second-placed and title holders Zamalek who closed the gap on their arch rivals with a 1-0 victory over Aswan, also on Thursday.
