Egypt's Maqassa through to Confederation Cup round of 16

Egyptian side Maqassa reached the round of 16 on their African Confederation Cup debut despite losing 1-0 away to DR Congo's CS Don Bosco on Saturday.

Maqassa, who finished fourth in the Egyptian Premier League last season, advanced with a 3-2 aggregate win following their 3-1 first-leg victory.

They overcame Ethiopia's Defence Force in the preliminary round.

Maqassa lie seventh in the domestic league with 33 points from 21 games.

Fellow Egyptian side ENPPI take on Ivory Coast's Africa Sports in the Confederation Cup later on Sunday. ENPPI won the first leg 2-0 away from home.
