Zamalek's Scottish coach Alex McLeish has expressed his hope to meet the team's arch-rivals, Ahly, in the final of the African Champions League.

"I wish all the luck for Egyptian teams in the African championships and I really hope I meet an Egyptian team in the African Champions League," the 57-year-old told an Egyptian TV programme Saturday.

Zamalek made it to Round 16, defeating Cameroon's Union Douala 2-0 home Saturday (3-0 on aggregate), while Ahly beat Angola's Recreativo do Libolo 2-0 in the same round.

"The competition here is similar to Rangers-Celtic rivalry. It's so passionate. I love this challenge more than I love playing in the Premier League," the tactician, who led Rangers for five years, explained.

McLeish also hailed Zamalek players, saying he is confident they are capable of clinching all the season's titles.

"I am leading a team that wants to win all games and this wasn't my situation in England. This is a pressure, but I have good players and we will do our best to win domestic and continental competitions," the former Scotland national team manager added.

Zamalek, title holders of the Egyptian Premier League and Egypt Cup, are currently second in the Egyptian Premier League table with 41 points, six less than Ahly.
