Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure (Reuters)
Manchester City's Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure decided to skip his country's Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan to recover from injury.
Toure is suffering from a recurrent heel injury and is planned to remain at City for more treatment.
The 32-year-old is looking to be fit ahead of The Citizens' clash against French giants PSG in the Champions League quarters next month.
Ivory Coast will host Sudan on Friday in the qualifying game before playing the second leg four days later in Khartoum.
The African champions are third in group I with two points behind group leaders Gabon (4 points) and second-placed Sudan (3 points).
