Hull City winger Ahmed Elmohamady made his English Premier League return Saturday during which his team beat Derby County 3-0, edging one step closer to a Premier League promotion.

The Egyptian international played the full 90 minutes to contribute in his side’s victory ahead of the crucial second leg at home on 17 May, during which Derby will have to overcome a three goal deficit to continue to the next round of play.

The Tigers were hosted by the Rams in the first leg of the league play-off semi-final.

Elmohamady, who initially joined Hull on loan in the summer of 2012 before becoming a permanent member of the team a year later, has made 42 appearances and scored three goals this year with the Championship side.

The 28 year-old Elmo, as he is popularly known, has been an integral member of Hull's squad ever since helping the club seal Premier League promotion three years ago.

The ex-ENPPI man is keen on his team’s return to the English top-flight, as a failure to seal promotion could well see him out of KCOM Stadium.

Hull, currently fourth in the table, sit 10 points behind leaders Burnley and four ahead of fifth-placed Derby County.

Elmohamady kicked off his overseas career in 2010, joining Sunderland on loan from ENPPI before signing a permanent deal with the English side the following season.
