Ten Ahly supporters suffered shortness of breath and minor bruising due to overcrowding as thousands of fans attempted to cheer on their players during Monday's training session, Health Ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed announced.
"Four injured fans were released immediately, while the remaining six were taken to hospitals, but there weren't serious injuries," Megahed explained.
Ahly coach Martin Jol was forced to cancel the training session after 15 minutes because of safety concerns as excited fans packed the pitch.
Thousands of Ahly fans gathered at the club's home pitch to support the players ahead of Friday's anticipated league match against Ismaily.
The fans set off fireworks, chanted for the players and held banners urging the team to fight for the club's 38th Egyptian Premiere league title.
Ahly's domestic campaign was dealt a blow after last week's 3-2 loss to bitter rivals Masry, which blew the title race wide open as defending champions Zamalek edged up to five points behind league leaders Ahly with three matches left in the season.
