Redknapp revealed Sunday that he will do his best to keep Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor in Tottenham squaq permanently after the on-loan attacker inspired the Spurs to a 2-1 win at Wigan on Sunday.
The 27-year old forward performed a fine start with the White Hart Lane as he scored three goals in three games he participated in.
"If he keeps going like he's going I'd love to keep him around. He's been excellent so far," Tottenham manager was quoted as saying on skysports.
The African Player of the Year 2008 is due to return to Manchester City next summer but Redknapp concedes he would be interested in coming to a long-term arrangement.
Redknapp hinted that Adebayor's wages are the potential stumbling would deny the negotiations but he hopes a deal can be done.
"But the wages will be the problem because he's not cheap." Redknapp added.
