Ahly returned to the league summit after cruising to an easy 2-0 Egyptian league victory over El-Entag El-Harby on Saturday.

Two second-half goals from Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi and Egypt playmaker Abdallah El-Said gave Ahly their seventh win in nine games in their bid to defend their league title.

Hossam El-Badry's men are now on top with 23 points, two ahead of second-placed Maqassa who played a game less. Entag, meanwhile, remain in 13th place on six points.

Second-half strikes

Ahly's first chance came after 11 minutes when a pin-point cross from Egypt right-back Ahmed Fathi was headed high over by Ajayi from close range.

The following minutes saw El-Entag keeper Amer Mohamed come into his side's rescue twice, first when he blocked El-Said's low strike from outside the area before thwarting Walid Soliman's free-kick on the stroke of half-time.

And it was just three minutes into the second half when Ajayi gave his side the lead following a cross from El-Said that ended up at the feet of the Nigeria international to slot home from inside the area.

Ahly's second goal came in the 65th minute when a powerful strike from El-Said, who also scored Egypt's second goals in the World Cup qualifying wins over Congo and Ghana, beat the keeper  for his side's second of the night.

El-Said could have bagged his personal second when he headed substitute Moemen Zakareya's cross towards goal near the end, but keeper Amer was there to prevent conceding further goals, as Ahly coasted to an easy victory.
