Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has asserted that Egypt's national team will reach the 2018 World Cup in Russia as the team's players are one of the best generations seen in Egyptian national football.
"Egypt's national team is the biggest team in the continent," Elneny told a television programme late Friday.
"The current squad is one of the best generations that Egypt has brought, so we will qualify for the World Cup," he said.
Egypt is bidding for its first World Cup appearance since 1990 and leads its group with six points, two clear of Uganda, while Ghana are third on a solitary point ahead of a trailing Congo.
The Pharaohs, that have not lost in any home World Cup qualifiers since 2004, face Uganda in home and away matches in 2017.
The national team recently finished runners-up in the African Cup of Nations in Gabon in January after losing to Cameroon 2-1 in the final.
