Mouscron's Egyptian winger Mahmoud "Trezeguet" Hassan helped his side ensure a place in the first division of the Belgium league next season after scoring a vital goal in the team's 2-0 win over Kortrijk on Sunday.

The international winger met a low cross with a nice shot from inside the area, opening the scoring for his side in the 34th minute of the game.

Sunday's win helped Mouscron avoid relegation as they advanced to the 15th place in the league table at the expense of Westerlo, who slumped to a 0-4 defeat to Genk.

The 22-year-old Egyptian, who is on loan from Anderlecht, has produced a string of fine displays with Mouscron since joining the club last summer, scoring four goals in 21 games.

Several reports linked him with a possible move to the Premier League as many clubs have shown interest in the Egyptian player.

Trezeguet was instrumental in Egypt's campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations that saw the Pharaohs reach the final before losing 1-2 to Cameroon.
