Egypt's Mahmoud Trezeguet netted twice and created a goal as Royal Excel Mouscron defeated Roeselare 5-3 in Group B of the Belgian league playoff on Saturday.
The attacking midfielder put his side 2-0 up with a 40th-minute goal and was on target again seven minutes past the hour mark to make it 3-3 in a thrilling encounter.
He also set up Deivydas Matulevicius for the fourth just one minute later and Mouscron added a fifth late in the match to wrap up the victory.
Trezeguet has found the net for the first time since scoring in Mouscron's 2-0 win over Kortrijk on 12 March.
The 22-year-old, who is on loan from Belgian giants Anderlecht, has produced a string of fine displays with Mouscron since joining the club last summer, scoring six league goals and providing five assists.
Several reports linked him with a possible move to the Premier League, with Liverpool mooted as possible suitors.
Trezeguet was instrumental in Egypt's campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations that saw the Pharaohs reach the final before losing 1-2 to Cameroon in February.
