Egypt and Merreikh goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary has spoken of his respect for the Sudanese club's management and fans, confirming all what happened are misunderstanding.

“I am sorry for not attending the investigations and I will go to Sudan after Brazil friendly,” read a statement on the Egyptian Football Association official web site.

The Sudanese side lodged a complaint with the country's football authorities against El-Hadary claiming the shot-stopper had been absent from training since October.

The Sudanese FA had summoned El-Hadary to attend a hearing into his team's complaint on 20 October, but the player did not turn up. Nor did he show at a rescheduled hearing on 3 November.

Subsequently, the players’ status committee of the Sudanese FA set 17 November for the release of its ruling on Merriekh’s complaint against El-Hadary.

The 38-year-old announced that he will travel to Sudan after playing in the international friendly against Brazil on Monday.

The three-time African keeper of the year was instrumental in Egypt's African Cup of Nations treble in 2006, 2008 and 2010 and is expected to continue in goal for Egypt's American coach Bob Bradley tonight.
