Zambia’s Zanaco moved top of the Champions League Group D after beating Cameroon’s Cotonsport 2-1 on Saturday.

Saith Sakala gave hosts Zanaco the lead in as early as the 10th minute before Moussa Souleymanou equalized 16 minutes later.

Just five minutes from the end of regular time, Diddy Kitumbo provided the winner to take his side three points clear at the top of the table before Ahly visit Morocco’s Wydad on Sunday.

In Group A, Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel were held to a 1-1 draw by Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman at the Stade Olympique de Sousse.

The Tunisians went ahead in the 57th minute through Zied Boughattas, whose goal was cancelled out just 10 minutes from time by Mohamed Musa.

Unlike their Sudanese fellows, Al-Merreikh slumped to a 1-0 loss away to Mozambique’s Ferroviaro da Beira, thanks to a 67th-minute goal from Dayo Antonio.

Etoile remain in charge of Group A with seven points, three ahead of Ferroviaro and four clear of Al Hilal Omdurman.

In the Confederation Cup, Morocco’s FUS Rabat prevailed 2-1 at home against North African counterparts Tunisia’s Club Africain at home.

Ibrahim Chenihi gave the visitors the lead in the 19th minute before Mohamed Fouzair brought the hosts level from the spot eight minutes after the interval.

Ayoub Skouma grabbed a 90th-minute goal to give the Moroccans a precious win as they moved top of Group A level on six points with Uganda’s Kampala City who beat Nigeria’s River United 2-1, thanks to a Derrick Nsimbambi double.
