Stoke City's Egyptian forward Ramadan Sobhi expressed his delight on Thursday after the club extended his contract for another season, adding he is determined to repay Stoke City for the faith they have shown in him.

Sobhi joined the Premier League side last summer after signing a four-year contract with the Potters, but the club extended his contract on Thursday for another season.

"I’m proud to be part of this club and I’m determined to repay Stoke City for the faith they showed in signing me at just 19," Sobhi told the club's official website on Thursday.

The 20-year-old produced many fine displays in his eight appearances with the club last season, proving his talent as a promising player.

"I received a friendly and good welcome from everyone at the club, including my teammates and the management team in my first season. Thanks to the fans for the support they gave me throughout last season," he added.

"Last season was good, but I am confident that the best is yet to come."

Stoke City will start the Premier League campaign this season with a tough clash against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
