Zamalek's board of directors, under the leadership of president Galal Ibrahim, have decided to increase the fines levied on striker Amr Zaki and winger Hazem Emam due to their lack of commitment.
“Each player will be fined an additional LE50,000 for failing to attend training sessions,” Ibrahim told Ahram Online.
The White Castle decided earlier that Zaki would be punished with an LE150,000 fine, while Emam was slapped with an LE130,000 fine.
“The board have the right to increase the fine as the players were absent for more than four days without excuse,” he added.
Both players have threatened to lodge formal complaints with FIFA that they have not received their salaries.
Under the helm of manager Hassan Shehata, Zamalek are making a bid for their first Egyptian Premier League title since 2004. They are currently fifth in the table with 10 points, 4 behind archrivals and title holders Ahly.
