Egyptian football icon and Ahly chairman Mahmoud "Bibo" El-Khatib held a meeting with the club's first football team players asking them to go back to their accustomed habit of winning, ahead of the much-anticipated African Champions League clash against Botswana's Township Rollers set for Tuesday in Alexandria.

"You have to do your best to defend the fans' dream of regaining the CAF Champions League title and competing in the Clubs' World Cup," El-Khatib was quoted as saying to the players on the club's official website.

The eight-time CAF Champions League title holders Ahly are in a tough spot in the league this season following a poor start to their group-stage campaign.

"I am confident of your ability to get past the current position, as we have no choice but to win the coming two games to continue competing in the tournament," the Ahly chairman added.

The Cairo Giants were held to a goalless draw at home by Tunisian giants Esperance before slumping to a 2-0 loss to Uganda's Kampala City, slipping to the bottom of Group A with a solitary point from their opening two matches. Esperance lead the group with six points, followed by Kampala and Township Rollers with three each.
