Ahly midfielder Hossam Ashour will undergo medical tests to determine the seriousness of his knee injury during the team's 3-0 win over Botswana's Township Rollers in the African Champions League group stage.
"Ashour suffers from a knee injury and the medical staff will determine his rehab programme as well as his availability for the team's trainings," read a statement on the club's official website on Thursday.
With the participation of Ashour, Egyptian giants Ahly recovered from a poor start to their African Champions League group stage campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Botswana's Township Rollers to give new coach Patrice Carteron a winning start in Alexandria on Tuesday.
The Red Devils moved to second Group A with four points, three behind leaders Esperance. Kampala and Township Rollers have three points each.
