Ahly will be boosted by the return of injured duo Saad Samir and Marwan Mohsen in the African Champions League test against Algeria's ES Setif on 2 October, while Amr El-Soulaya is to remain on the sidelines as he didn't yet recover from injury.
The Reds, who recently suffered from a long list of absentees due to injuries, will host their Algerian counterparts in the first leg of the prestigious tournament semifinals. The return match will be played in Algeria 23 October.
"The technical staff preferred to exclude Samir and Mohsen from the recent trip to Lebanon (to play in the Arab Club Champions Cup) to continue their rehabilitation programme ahead of the ES Setif match," Ahly's doctor Khaled Mahmoud was quoted as saying on the club's official website Wednesday.
"They are ready for the Setif match and will rejoin trainings after returning from Lebanon," he added.
Defender Samir and striker Mohsen were suffering from muscular injuries that kept them out of Saturday's 4-0 win over Guinea's Horoya AC, the victory that ensured Ahly's place in the semis.
Injured midfielder Amr El-Soulaya won't be available for the Setif match as he still needs 10 days to complete his recovery, according to Ahly's doctor.
Ahly, who eye their first Champions League trophy since 2013, are currently in Lebanon ahead of facing Nejmeh on Thursday in the second leg of the Arab Club Champions Cup Round 32. The first leg ended with a 0-0 draw in Cairo on 13 August.
Ahly currently lie seventh in the Egyptian League table with 11 points from five matches, six behind leaders and archrivals Zamalek who have played three matches more.
