Tunisian fullback Hamdi Nagguez is ready to boost Zamalek in Saturday's anticipated Egyptian league derby against archrivals Ahly after recovering from his injury, the Whites announced on Tuesday.

"The doctor allowed Nagguez to participate in the training session after recovering from the muscular injury that he picked in the last league match against Arab Contractors," reads a statement on Zamalek's official website.

Ahly and Zamalek will meet at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium in a postponed match that could define the season.

The 26-year-old Nagguez, who joined Zamalek from Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel on January 2018, missed the trainings in the last two days, giving rise to doubts about his availability for the derby.

The Tunisian international has been a key member in Zamalek’s squad this season; scoring twice in 12 league appearances so far.

Leaders Zamalek failed to restore their four-point lead on top of the Egyptian Premier League after being held to a 2-2 draw with Arab Contractors on Wednesday. Ahly thrashed Petrojet 4-0 in their last league match on 4 March.

Ahly currently lie second on the league table with 51 points from 22 matches, just two behind Zamalek.
