Liverpool Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah said on Thursday he is delighted to be named the Reds' player of the month, stressing that the most important for him is to help his side win games.

The international winger was rewarded for his dazzling performance with Liverpool during the last month as he was voted 'star man' by Liverpool fans after scoring three goals and providing two assists in six appearances.

He helped Liverpool win the UEFA Super Cup at the expense of Chelsea.

"I am happy to win the award, but the most important thing as I’ve said before is winning games," he said upon receiving the trophy at Melwood on Thursday.

"We won all of our games last month in the league, we had good results, so we need to keep focused on our games and keep winning.

"We had a good month. We won a trophy in that time, so it was something unbelievable for us as a team. Everyone showed with our performances and the way we can play, so we’re happy about what we have right now."

The Egyptian winger, who joined Liverpool from Roma in the summer of 2017, took the Premier League by storm, finishing as the Premier League top scorer in the past two seasons.
