The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have announced that all the Pharaohs’ current camp friendly games are canceled due to security concerns.
“After the association received a letter from the Minister of Interior demanding the cancellation of all the National team’s friendly games that were scheduled to be played during their current training camp in Petro Sport Stadium, the EFA apologised to all the teams [for canceling],” reads a statement on the EFA official website.
The winners of seven African Cup of Nation Cups, Egypt, are preparing for the 2013 tournament under the guidance of American manager Bob Bradley.
They were supposed to play Uganda on 23 February three days before meeting Guinea before they take on Niger on the last day of the month.
All football competition has been suspended in the country following Port Said Stadium disaster that left more than 74 dead and a thousand injured at the end of Ahly and Masry game on 1 February.
