Egypt’s volleyball team suffered their first defeat at the 2019 Volleyball World Cup in Japan on Friday, losing to Brazil 3-1.
The Brazilian team won the first set 25-19, then Egypt snatched the second set 25-21.
However, the third and fourth sets went to the Brazilians with scores of 25-19 and 25-22.
After losing to Brazil, Egypt lie in sixth place with six points, having beaten Australia and Iran previously.
Egypt will be facing Canada in their next game on Saturday at 4am Cairo local time (GMT+2).
In the loss to Brazil, Egypt’s skipper Ahmed Salah continued his superb performance, scoring 12 points during the Brazil game.
He scored 21 points during the victory over Iran and 14 points against Australia.
The 2019 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup features 12 national teams from the five continental confederations and is taking place in Nagano, Fukuoka and Hiroshima from October 1 to 15.
