Ahly coach Rene Weiler has assured that the team is currently concentrating on the Egyptian Premier League, especially as the team is scheduled to clash with Zamalek in the Cairo derby next week.
Ahly will face Zamalek in the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League on 19 October.
"It is too early at this time to think about our matches in the African championship, as we have to concentrate on the league competition and take it step by step," Weiler told Ahly's official website.
"We don't have to get busy too much with the African Champions League draw. Every phase has its challenges and special preparations," the 46-year-old Swiss coach added.
The Confederation of African Football's Champions League draw was held in Cairo on Wednesday, resulting in Ahly playing in Group B alongside Etoile Sahel of Tunisia, Sudanese giants Al-Hilal and Zimbabwe's F.C. Platinum.
