After dropping several points in the Egyptian Premier League so far this season and losing the Egypt Cup title to Zamalek last season, Pyramids FC’s French coach Sebastien Desabre’s future with the team is on the line.
Pyramids, who are in fifth place in the table with only 12 points, lost to Zamalek 2-0 on the seventh matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
"We didn't produce the expected performance against Zamalek, as the team's form didn't meet management’s expectations," Pyramids football director Hani Said told a radio programme on Friday.
"We will hold a meeting with the coach during the coming two days to avoid emotional decisions, " he added.
"The management will ask Desabre why the team showed a poor performance against Zamalek.
"It's not acceptable to complete the team with this form," he said.
Pyramids played seven games in the league so far this season as the achieved the victory three times, drew in three games and lost in one.
"We dropped more points and it's not accepted to introduce all the financial support to the team to be in the table's middle. It's not applicable with the team who wants to compete on the title," Said said.
Desabre, who has coached the Ugandan national team, Esperance of Tunisia and Wydad of Morocco, joined Pyramids in July, and was in charge of the team during their 3-0 loss to Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final in September.
