The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said on Wednesday the Premier League matches scheduled for Thursday will be put off due to bad weather.
"In accordance with the Egyptian prime minister's decision to cancel Thursday's activities due to bad weather, and the Meteorological Authority statement, the EFA decided to postpone the Egyptian Premier League 18th-round matches scheduled for tomorrow," read a statement posted on the EFA's Facebook page.
"Hossam El-Zanaty, the head of the Competitions Committee, said that EFA chose new dates for the postponed games, which will be announced after receiving security clearance," the statement added.
The Egyptian cabinet said on Wednesday that Thursday will be a paid day off for employees in Egypt's public and private sectors due to "bad weather conditions."
