Italian giants Inter Milan became the latest side to show interest in signing Morocco’s gifted playmaker Younes Belhanda.

According to French sports website sport365.fr, the Nerazzurri dispatched a scout to observe the 22-year-old midfielder during Montpellier’s 1-0 win over Saint Etienne last weekend.

The Italians are seeking to rebuild their squad following their recent debacle. The team has experienced a downhill slide ever since their historical treble in 2010.

Belhanda emerged as one of the rising stars of the French Ligue 1 this season, helping Montpellier top the table with 60 points after 29 match-days.

He has already been linked with Italian champions AC Milan, France giants PSG and Premier League side Arsenal.

Belhanda is still under contract with Montpellier until 2014 and they are willing to tie him beyond this date.

The Moroccan playmaker has revealed that he is happy at Montpellier, but says he will decide on his future when the current season wraps up.
