Zamalek's skipper Hazem Emam has been cleared fit for the anticipated Cairo derby game against Ahly in the 21st matchday of the Egyptian Premier League scheduled for Saturday.

The head of the Whites medical staff Mohamed Osama assured that the 32-year-old full back has fully recovered from a recent injury and is ready to participate in trainings and matches.

Coach Patrice Carteron would welcome the good news especially that his squad is short of talent on the right side following the departure of Tunisian defender Hamdi Nagguez and the lack of experience of youngster Ahmed Eid.

The Frenchman had to deploy central defenders Mohamed Abdel-Ghani and Mohamed Abdel-Salam on the flank to fill in for Emam.

Zamalek, who have faced difficulties scoring since the return of football activities in early August, will be trying to claim a victory over arch rivals Ahly in order to boost the players’ morals ahead of their African Champions League clash against Morocco’s Raja Casablanca in late September.

While Ahly are already being tipped to claim their 42nd league title courtesy to a whopping 17-point advantage, Zamalek hope to spoil their party and prove their return to form.
