Reports: Omotoyossi ends Zamalek contract heads to Nigeria

According to MTN, Benin forward Razak Omotoyossi ends Zamalek contract due to financial issues

Benin striker Razak Omotoyossi has reportedly cancelled his contract with Egyptian side Zamalek after problems with payments.

“I have cancelled my contract with Zamalek after they failed to pay me for two months,” Omotoyossi was quoted as saying on on Monday.

“I have already informed FIFA and the club of my decision.”

The 26-year-old Nigeria-born forward who has been playing in the Egyptian League since last year, missed the Whites 3-2 defeat in the group stage CAF Champions League defeat in against Ghana’s Berekum Chelsea.

 “I have proved myself in Africa again and now I wish to move on.”

The former Sweden Syrianska FC and GAIS, France’s FC Metz, Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia who has nine caps with the Cairo giants is currently in Nigeria negotiating a new move.

Egyptian clubs are facing a financial crisis, a result of the suspension of domestic competitions since 1 February when more than 70 Ahly fans were killed during post-game clashes in Port Said stadium after playing the Masry side.
