Seven of Ahly international players will join the Egyptian national team training camp in the United Arab Emirates to boost the Pharaohs squad ahead of Monday's friendly against Ivory Coast.
Egypt suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat by Ghana on Thursday in the first friendly match of the camp and the Red Devils duo defender Wael Gomaa and striker El-Sayed Hamdi were only available for the match.
Ahly's other international players were kept with their team to take part on Friday's 1-1 friendly draw against Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
"Mohamed Abou-Treika, Abdullah El-Saied, Hossam Ashour, Mohamed Nagi "Gedo", Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Shedid Kenawy and Rami Rabeia will all travel to Abu Dhabi to join the national team camp," Ahly said in a statement in its official website on Saturday.
Egypt will host Zimbabwe in March in their third match in the World Cup qualifiers’ group stage.
The Pharaohs top Group G with six points from two games, three ahead of second-placed Guinea. Zimbabwe and Mozambique have one point each.
