Two Ahly key players suffered injuries during Sunday's 2-0 win against Kenya's Tusker in CAF Champions League held at Borg El-Arab Stadium, the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria.
Sherif Abdel-Fadil was substituted after the first half for suffering a muscle strain. Rami Rabea was forced to complete the 90 minutes despite sustaining a calf injury.
"I thank all the fans who supported the team. I was suffering pains during the game but I continued until the final whistle," the 25-year-old defender told the African Champions after the game.
The duo will be undergo medical scans Tuesday to know the full extent of their injuries, and how long they would be sidelined.
The Cairo-giants will face Tunisian giants C. A. Bizertin in the last 16 round after defeating Tusker 4-1 on aggregate.
