Zamalek striker Ahmed Gaafar has officially signed a renewed 3-year contract, the Cairo giants announced early on Saturday.

"Gaafar assured the club that he was totally committed before signing the new contract by agreeing to the deal terms with the management," Zamalek said in a statement on its official website, not disclosing the financial details.

The 27-year-old attacker joined Zamalek in the summer of 2009 and has performed well over the last four years to establish himself as one of the team's key elements.

The Pharaohs hitman was recently rumoured to be leaving Zamalek, especially when renewal negotiations didn't proceed as hoped, but the matter was finally settled.

Gaffar is the second player to put pen to paper for the Whites this summer, as teammate Ahmed Samir recently extended his contract for three years.
