Ahly coach relieved after African Champions League win

Mohamed Youssef is optimistic about Ahly's opportunities in the CAF Champions League after beating AC Leopards in Congo

Ahly coach Mohamed Youssef has expressed satisfaction after his side defeated Congo's Leopards 1-0 away in the third round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

"I am proud of the players especially after accomplishing victorty  under the hard circumstances the country is witnessing. We have really returned back to the competition," Youssef told the club's official website Saturday after the game.

"We dominated in the field and players proved they are responsible enough and they followed the technical staff instructions."

Same as Leopards, Ahly have four points, from possible nine, after the Egyptians drew with rivals Zamalek, one point, and were defeated by South Africa's Orlando Pirates who lead the group with seven points.
