Egypt and FC Basel's flamboyant winger Mohamed Salah has been on Tottenham’s radar for a while but it seems that coach Andreas Villas-Boas is now ready to bring him to the White Hart Lane.

According to a report on ESPN, the English Premier League side have stepped up their interest in signing the in-form winger.

The report revealed that Salah, 22, has caught the eyes of Portuguese boss Villas-Boas during last season’s Europa League tie against Basel, which saw Salah inspire the Swiss side to a precious victory that lifted them to the competition's semi-final.

Villas-Boas sent scouts to Stamford Bridge to monitor the player's progress during the opening round of the UEFA Champions League against Chelsea. The Egyptian international was on target as Basel claimed a stunning victory over Jose Mourinho's men.

According to the report, Salah is currently valued at £15 million by Basel. Villas-Boas will have the chance to further watch him when Egypt face Ghana in a two-legged World Cup playoff as he mulls tabling an offer for the talented schemer.
