Ahly and Egypt star Mohamed Abou-Treika may reverse his decision to retire from football, Ahly coach Mohamed Youssef has said.
"Abou-Treika is still hesitant about his retirement decision," Youssef said.
"After the World Club Cup in Morocco he can change his mind or stick with his decision.
"If he finishes playing this season or next season or whenever he decides to quit, he will have a place at the club," he added.
"Winning the African Champions League and playing in the Club World Cup in Morocco, then goodbye to football and many thanks to all," Abou-Treika said via Twitter early last month.
The announcement came after the 35-year-old midfielder's dream of playing in his first World Cup was dashed by Egypt's 6-1 playoff defeat to Ghana.
"Abou-Treika is a great player. Everyone in Egypt admires his style of play and his behaviour towards his teammates and fans," Youssef told a television programme on Sunday.
"He is a magician as people call him. I enjoy watching him on the field when he has the ball.
"He always made things happen at critical times," he added.
Rabaa sign fears
Ahly have suspended striker Ahmed Abdel-Zaher and put him up for sale in the January transfer window for making the four-fingered Rabaa sign during the African Champions League final.
The gesture was made in solidarity with supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi who were killed when security forces cleared the Rabaa Al-Adawiya sit-in on 14 August.
Youssef refused to comment on the matter: "I am the technical manger so I can't comment on the management's punishment of the player.
"Abdel-Zaher recently joined Ahly from ENPPI so he doesn't know the club's rules," he added.
Media reports claim Ahly fear Abou-Treika might make the same signal during the Club World Cup in Morocco in December.
"Abou-Treika is wise enough not repeat the same action in Morocco," Youssef said.
The Cairo giants Ahly will represent Africa in the Club World Cup in Morocco after winning the CAF Champions League title.
They will fly to Morocco on 29 November after they have played three friendly games.
