Once Chelsea officially announced signing Egypt forward Mohamed Salah for five and a half years, Egyptian fans invaded the Premier league side's official Facebook page to extend their compatriot hearty support – with characteristic Egyptian humour.

The 21-year-old Salah, who was part of Swiss side Basel's squad last season, earned the title of best player in Switzerland thanks to his superb performance there.

However, since the Blues already have other names in Salah's position -- like Eden Hazard, William and Oscar -- Salah's admirers fear that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may sideline the Egyptian star during the English Premier League games, which could affect the young player's future.

Ahram Online compiled some of the Egyptian fans' comments on Chelsea's official Facebook page following Salah's official signing.

As well as asking the team coach to include Salah in the team's regular starting lineup during the coming games, one fan requested the Chelsea Facebook page admin publish more news about Salah.

On Monday, another Egyptian fan asked, bright and early: "So, has Salah been given breakfast yet?"

"Dear Mourinho, please take good care of Salah," another Egyptian fan pleaded the Chelsea coach, "remember, he is a foreigner in your land; think of him as your son."

One of Chelsea's British fans asked Egyptians to post their comments in English so as to be understood by all. An Egyptian fan replied: "We have been using Google Translate for so long in order to understand what you say; now may be your turn to use Google Translate too."

Egyptian Barcelona fans single-handedly propelled the members of the Spain La Liga champions' Facebook page to 50 million within a month, with 746,000 members registered in Cairo alone, according to the club's official website.

The Facebook page of English Premier League side Chelsea is expected to continue accruing Egyptian fans with the signing of forward Salah.
