Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari said on Wednesday he is delighted to unite with compatriot Michael Essien at AC Milan, adding that Essien's move will be crucial for the Rossoneri.

Essien completed his move from Chelsea to Milan last week and Muntari believes that his arrival will be a major boost to his side who are struggling in the Serie A this season.

"Essien and I have been friends for 12 years,” Muntari told Milan Channel on Wednesdey.

"We have often shared a room together in the national team.

"He works a lot, speaks little and sleeps a lot as well!

"I’ll help him adapt to life here quickly, and I’m sure he’ll be making a crucial contribution soon."
