Ahly striker Mohamed Nagi Gedo will remain on the sidelines Thursday as the Red Devils take on Ghazl El-Mahalla in the Egyptian Premier League.
Gedo, who has just ended his loan deal with English side Hull City, featured in last week's loss to Arab Contractors but an injury left him absent in Monday's defeat to Dakhleya.
Problems with his knee have continued, forcing him to miss Thursday's match, according to a statement published on Ahly's official website on Tuesday.
The statement added that he will rejoin next Saturday's training sessions.
Gedo is not the only Ahly player sidelined on an injury. Veteran striker Emad Meteb has been out of action since the beginning of the season, leaving a hole in the team's attacking line.
Such absences left Ahly struggling in Monday's loss to Dakhleya, the team's second straight defeat, which unseated them from the top spot in the league's Group A. They now stand at second place with 12 points after six games.
However, it seems that Meteb might be returning soon to boost the team's performance.
The club revealed that he will be taking part in next week's training sessions to prepare him for action.
Winger Sayed Moawad's availability has also been in doubt for Thursday's clash with El-Mahalla, but Ahly has confirmed that he is ready for the match.
