Egyptian champions Ahly are wrapping up preparations for their CAF Confederation Cup Group stage match against Sewe Sport of Ivory Coast at Cairo's Air Defense Stadium Saturday.
Under the helm of Spaniard Carlos Garrido – who took charge of the team after Fathi Mabrouk following their Premier League triumph – Ahly are bidding to become first Egyptian team to win the Confederation Cup.
The record holders of eight trophies of the CAF Champions League and the winners of the last two successive editions of the most prestigious African tournament are competing in the Confederation Cup after failing to qualify for the league's group stage.
They are currently leading the Cup's Group B table with five points from three matches, level with Tunisian rivals E.S. Sahel.
The Cairo giants registered four new players Wednesday: Hossam Ghaly, Mohamed Farouk, Bassem Ali and Ramadan Sobhi.
The match will be held at 21:30 Cairo time behind closed doors.
