Zamalek's new coach Jaime Pacheco has expressed his pleasure at beating Smouha 2-0 in his first game in charge with the Whites.

The Cairo giants defeated Smouha 2-0 in sixth match of the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday. Bassem Morsi and Moemen Zakareya found the net during stoppage time to give the new Portuguese coach his first win.

"I worked hard with the team last week to avoid the mistakes they made in the previous games," Pacheco told the post game press conference.

"Zamalek players did their best during the game and they managed to repel Smouha's counter attacks," he added.

"We had more scoring chances during the game as we played in an organised way that helped us to win," the Zamalek coach said.

Zamalek are sixth in the Egyptian Premier League table with nine points from five games, drawing three and winning two.

Pacheco congratulates Real

The Zamalek coach congratulated Spanish giants Real Madrid for beating their arch-rivals Barcelona in the La Liga on Saturday.

Real Madrid trimmed Barcelona's lead at the top of La Liga to one point after nine games when they recovered after conceding an early goal to secure a stirring 3-1 comeback win in the Clasico.

"I am happy for Real Madrid's victory over Barcelona in the Spanish Clasico," Pacheco announced during the press conference.

"Like most Zamalek fans I support Real Madrid, moreover Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe are my friends," the Zamalek coach concluded.
