Ahly have been shortlisted among the three-team nominated for the 2014 African Club of the Year title, contending with AS Vita Club of DR Congo and ES Setif of Algeria.

The Egyptian Premier League title holders, Ahly claimed their first-ever Confederation Cup title after beating Sewe Sport 2-1 in Ivory Coast.

Ahly is the only Egypt representative in the 2014 Glo-CAF Awards after the elimination of Pharaohs striker Amr Gamal and winger Mohamed Elneny from the African player of the year shortlist.

ES Setif of Algeria won the African Champions League title on an away goal win over AS Vita of DR Congo in the final game last month.

The 2014 Glo-CAF Awards will be announced 8 January at a ceremony in Nigeria's Lagos to honour Africa's best players and officials for their achievements during 2014.

The ceremony also will award African Player of The Year, National Team of The Year, Club of The Year, Referee of the Year and Coach of The Year, all based in Africa.
