Zamalek have officially signed their one-time star playmaker Mohamed Ibrahim for next season after his unsuccessful attempt to secure a starting role in European leagues.

"Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour has approved a five-season contract deal [signed in January], after a short spell in the Portuguese league," the club's official website stated on Monday.

Ibrahim, 23, joined Portuguese club Maritimo in August 2014, but he only made seven appearances in three months.

However, following months-dispute with Maritimo, Zamalek welcomed their talented x-star back home.

Ibrahim had helped the Whites win the last two editions of the Egypt Cup. He also made a few appearances with the Egyptian national team.
