Egyptian club Smouha have appointed Ahly's former coach Mohamed Youssef as the club's new tactician.
Youssef will replace veteran coach Helmy Toulan who was recently fired because of the club's poor results in the domestic league.
Toulan was sacked just six months after his appointment and despite his achievement to lead the Alexandrian side to the CAF Champions League group stage for the first time in the team's history
The 44-year-old Youssef, who guided Ahly for CAF Champions League and Super Cup titles in 2013, was free to sign for any club after parting ways with Iraqi side Al-Shorta in May.
Youssef was surprisingly fired by Al-Shorta management despite leading the table of the Iraqi league.
Smouha is currently the only Egyptian representative in the African Champions League this season.
The costal side, who finished as runners up in the Egyptian Premier League last season, is competing in round of 16 of the Egypt Cup and also lies at the 10th place with 50 points, 30 behind leaders Zamalek.
