Former Zamalek defender Mahmoud Fathallah (Ahram)
Talae El-Gaish defender Mahmoud Fathallah has been granted permission to temporarily withdraw from the upcoming game against his former team, Zamalek, when both sides meet on Wednesday in what could be a title winner for the Whites.
According to Egyptian website Yallakora, the former Egypt player told the club's directors that he wants to spare himself any embarrassment when facing his old team, especially since Zamalek need only a single point to be officially crowned league champions.
He added that Talae El-Gaish staff understood his demands and he thanks them for that.
The 33-year old defender has been a long-serving Zamalek player as he spent seven seasons playing for the 11-time Egyptian champions from 2007 until 2014.
Zamalek are currently on top of the Egyptian League table with 83 points and need only one point from their next few games to claim their first title in 11 years.
