Masry’s president Kamel Abou Aly announced on Monday that the team’s coach, Taha Basry, will be in charge of the team in the next season after agreeing to the terms on the contract extension.

“I am so happy to stay with the club for another season. Masry have all the means to succeed,” Basry told Ahram Online on Monday after his meeting with the club’s president.

Coming to the rescue after a stunning 3-1 defeat against Ittihad of Alexandria in day 19 of the Egyptian Premier League, Basry led Masry’s amazing recovery over the past seven games.

Under his guidance the team clinched five victories and conceded two draws, climbing to the sixth place of the League table with 40 points, just three behind third-placed Ismaily.

Former coach of ENPPI, Ismaily, Masreya Lil Ittisallat and Ittihad of Alexandria, Basry helped ENPPI to snatch their only title when they clinched the Egyptian Cup in 2005.
