A group of Ittihad of Alexandria supporters have agreed to stage a demonstration on Friday in front of the Northern Military Headquarters in Alexandria, demanding that the Supreme Council of the Armed Forced (SCAF) cancel the Egyptian Premier League relegation system this season.

The coastal club will certainly face relegation from the first division, as they lay at the bottom of the table with 24 points after their 1-1 draw with the table’s runner-ups, Zamalek, on Sunday.

A faction of Ahly’s hardcore fans, the Ultras White Knights (UWK), will join the Ittihad protest.

Ittihad's hopes to remain in the top flight vanished Sunday after a 1-1 draw with league contenders Zamalek sent them packing for the first time since 1960.
