Experienced Ahly midfielder Hossam Ashour will miss Saturday's Egyptian Premier League game against Petrojet due to injury, the team said on their website on Tuesday.

"Ashour is suffering a groin injury and will miss Saturday's game but is likely to be fit for the fourth league match in mid November against Maqassa," the Reds' doctor told the club's official website.

Substitute goalkeeper Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneim will also miss the game due to a knee injury, while defender Rami Rabea's participation will be determined after he undergoes scans on Wednesday for a groin injury.

Ahly finished last season with one trophy – Egypt Super Cup – after losing the league and cup to arch-rivals Zamalek. Ahly has so far collected the full mark of six points from two games with a clean sheet.
