Despite not being injured, Ahly's Gabonese striker Malick Evouna has been sidelined from the 20-man squad for the game against Petrojet on Sunday.

Ahly will face Petrojet in the third match day of the Egyptian Premier League on Sunday without the services of midfielder Hossam Ashour, defender Rami Rabia and midfielder Bassem Ali due to injury.

The Cairo giants' Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro has also dismissed Evouna from his team squad for Sunday's game due to technical reasons, according to Ahly's football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz.

"Evouna's dismissal is for technical reasons," Abdel-Hafiz told reporters after Saturday's training.

The Red Devils' new recruit had a flying start, scoring five goals in three games before starting the current Egyptian Premier League campaign.

"He doesn't suffer from any injury that could keep him out of the squad," Ahly's football director added.

Ahly are leading the Egyptian Premier League table with 6 points after two games.

Ahly's 20-man squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekrami, Mosaad Awad

Defenders: Hussein El-Sayed, Sabri Rahil, Mohamed Naguib, Saad Samir, Ahmed Hegazy, Mohamed Hani, Ahmed Fathi

Midfielders: Momen Zakaria, Saleh Gomaa, Hossam Ghaly, Ramadan Sobhi, Abdullah El-Said, Walid Soliman, Ahmed El-Sheikh

Strikers: John Antwi, Ahmed Abdel-Zaher, Amr Gamal, Emad Meteb
